SAMARAH are three lads from Saarland, Germany. The band was founded in
March 2006 by
Marcel Staub (vocals and guitar) and Sven Siersdorfer (drums). Primarily
planned to be just a
side-project to record some songs and bandy them about, the guys
realized quite fast that things
got serious and they wanted more. So the lineup was completed with
Michael Grandjean on bass
and the songs for the first album were written.
„Leaving the Underground“ was released in June 2007 on ES&L and
catapulted the band in
the upper sales ranks at Amazon in no time and got good reviews,
including lots of comparisons
with international bands.
Now, with „The World Stops Turning“ the successor hits the stores via
Antstreet Records.
SAMARAH don't chase trends, but consequently continue cutting their own
path they started
with their debut.

SAMARAH sind drei Jungs aus dem Saarland.
Gegründet wurde die Band im März 2006 von Marcel Staub (Gitarre u.
Gesang) und Sven Siersdorfer (Schlagzeug). Anfänglich nur als Projekt
geplant, um zu zweit einige Songs aufzunehmen und diese unter die Leute
zu bringen wurde den Jungs schnell klar, dass die Sache ernster wird und
das man mehr will. So wurde das Lineup mit Michael Grandjean am Bass
komplett und Songs für das erste Album geschrieben.
„LEAVING THE
UNDERGROUND" erschien im Juni 2007 unter dem Label ES&L und
katapultierte die Band in kürzester Zeit auf die vorderen Verkaufsränge
bei Amazon und kam auch
bei der Presse gut an, wo sie auch internationale Vergleiche nicht
scheuen mussten.
Mit „The World Stops
Turning" kommt nun der Nachfolger via Antstreet auf die Plattenteller.
SAMARAH laufen keinen Trends hinterher sondern gehen konsequent den Weg,
den sie mir ihrem Debut begonnen hatten weiter.
