"Where a Sixx is a Ten!"

Due to this digital age which we now find ourselves inundated with e-books, web zines, laptops and now the Kindle, many have lost their connection with the hands on experience with books, hand written letters, and old school Zines like this one. I grew up with the Zines ov the 80's and have always loved reading and collecting them. I simply love Print more than Pixels and prefer Fiber over Cyber. To further express my passion as well as fuel the Cause ov my Rebellion, I am currently working on another Print Zine Project.

The Content ov this project will primarily consist ov Metal, Music, Mythology and the Occult with a few other Underground topics thrown in for kicks. The Premiere Issue will contain Interviews with bands such as The Meads of Asphodel, Bal-Sagoth, Onslaught, NAETU, Bereavement, Lustmord as well as Interviews with Independent Film Maker Jon AES-Nihil, author Gerald Del Campo, a special Tribute to Jim Morrison, and Reviews by Dave Wolff just to name a few ov the items on the menu.

MMM MagaZine is a nod to the past as well as preservation into the future for the continuation ov the fine art ov primitive paper & ink publications. Zines have become something which has exceeded simple entertainment, for they are indeed powerful tools. They have become great catalysts and informational motivation for various communities. They have been used for political propaganda, religious purposes, you name it... a Zine can be the glue which keeps like minds together and working toward a common artistic goal. There is something sacred about the written word and something very nostalgic about Old School Zines.
 

Crowley said that the act ov writing and publishing is an act ov Magick. This quote is a nice summation ov this principle.

"Magick is the Science and Art of causing Change to occur in conformity with Will."

For many years I have wanted to write a book dealing with Music and the Occult and where these two intersect and play upon one another. Over the past couple ov years, Dave Wolff ov AEA Zine really motivated me to get back into writing in Zine format. Through this I discovered that this medium would serve as a tool to allow me, not only publish in print those things which involve Music and Magick, but could also be an ongoing, current and up to date source (as opposed to a one time book) for those who have like minds and interests. Plus this would give me another outlet for Reviews and Interviews which I have such a love for conducting. I believe that people seek a deeper understanding when it comes to their favorite band, the content ov their lyrics, the meanings behind the artists’ symbolism and discography, etc. They are also interested in the personal philosophies, spiritual beliefs, (or lack thereof) which an artist or group ov artists may hold dear. This is the intent ov Metal, Magick & Mythos MagaZine, to take that deeper look and enjoy the Mysteries as they unfold within the Metal Community as well as other tunnels ov the Underground.

Music is a powerful medium and Metal has been my passion for life. I have studied the Occult for more than 2 decades and Metal was my initial catalyst and has been an integral part ov the process for as long as I can remember. Magick has been a big part ov my focus over the years and I have studied and experimented with music being a tool for directing one's Will, causing Transformation, harnessing and directing one's Energy, etc.

Come on! You know that feeling you get when your favorite singer hailz and it gives you goose bumps all up and down your back and instantly pricks you with an energy which seems to come out ov nowhere; Or that deep, soul searching tune which has you reminiscing and thinking about your life, immediately taking you to a place in your heart and mind where you have not been in a while, if ever. Now it's not just about emotional highs and lows but Music is a most potent medium on so many levels.

Little did I know that the things which I picked up on from Music early on would be such a catalyst and would turn into a lifetime ov interest and study ov History, Literature, Art, Music, and the Occult. I am still just as intrigued today as I was back then by all ov the various mystical influences which have inspired so many within the realm ov Rock n' Roll. I am thrilled with the heavy occult overtones which have grown within Metal Music over the years.

What a long strange trip it's been but one I would not trade for the world. Maybe selling one's Soul or giving your utmost passions to something like Rock n' Roll or the pursuit ov mystical powers is more Salvation than it is Damnation. Maybe it's more Evolution than Devolution. Music has been my Salvation and Metal my Messiah in this distressful life and at times dreadful existence. I give thanks to those who have dedicated themselves and sacrificed themselves upon the altar ov Rock and Metal; These road warriors who have toured the Nation and the World to bring this magical music to the masses. And to those who have toiled in the studios around the world creating epic musical masterpieces so they could be experienced and enjoyed by those in tune with this majestic current.

My "Rock n' Roll Experience" as my brother calls it, has been a combination ov Music and Magick. Metal, Magick and Mythos is an outgrowth ov that journey for me and others who share this same fascinating journey. Those who have a kindred spirit and a story to tell ov their own... come with me. Like the Shamans ov old, let's take this journey together. May we open the myriad doors ov our own perception and peer deep inside the souls ov those who are experiencing this very same Magick all over the World.
