Luminis is a
project that started in 2005 by creator and vocalist, Tara.
After going through many line-up changes and musical goals,
Luminis is now reinventing itself as a 2 member group. Both
Tara and Steve are the creative masterminds behind the band,
writing and recording every instrument on their own to form
the darkly-epic sound you will come to know as LUMINIS.
Originally a
tribute act to the female fronted symphonic metal genre,
Luminis is now creating original material that may remind
you of acts such as Nightwish, Epica, or Within Temptation,
but will be a symphonic journey you've never quite heard
before with only two members!
Luminis’s music
incorporates beautiful, almost innocent sounding, orchestral
melodies which include a more frequent use of the piano, an
instrument that doesn’t seem to be used as much these days
in rock and metal. Luminis's lyrics focus on psychodynamic
conflicts and the intrapsychic pain experienced by those
dealing with mental illness. They also portray the many
diverse and sometimes imaginative ways by which those
afflicted learn to cope.
